Muslin Jamdani is the Signature of Bengal handloom. The designs are created from the memory of the weaver using an extra weft thread or two. Originaly a speciality of the weavers in Dhaka region of Present day's Bangladesh. After the Partition of India most of those weavers migrated to the western part of Bengal which is now the West Bengal state of INDIA. the Tradition is continuing despite the change of location it retains the original name Dhakai Jamdani.
